The Memory Collector - Fiona Harper
This is another one of my late 2018 reads. I didn’t LOVE it if I’m honest, but it was OK.
You know when you find a book that draws you in so much you become obsessed with it and you literally can’t wait to get to bed again so you can devour it? The type of book where you actually consider feigning your own illness so you can stay in bed and read it all day? And when you finish it you wonder what there is to look forward to in life now?
For me that was Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and Lion - and I haven’t read anything since that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with, like I did with those sensational books. I'm a tough cookie to please, I know.
This book was pleasant enough to read, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t fall in love with the characters (as much as I like to!) It didn’t have me rooting for the main characters, holding my breath, gasping in shock, or sobbing.
I’d give it 3 out out of 5.
What are you reading at the moment? I'd love to hear about your favourite books!
Much love, Fran xxx
